Overview
The lab guides participants through an end-to-end, production-style solution that detects surface defects from manufacturing images, classifies defect severity, and generates natural-language inspection commentary. Participants work with real-world defect scenarios such as crazing, patches, and scratches, using computer vision models to identify and score defects with confidence-based predictions.
What participants work through
- Combining computer vision with generative AI for insights and recommendations
- Pre-processing images/frames and detecting anomalies or defects
- Using retrieval and prompting pipelines to generate natural-language commentary
- Building dashboards showing visual input, detected issues, and next steps
